Call 1800 Respect

INDIVIDUALS - Register to Walk in the Parade

We invite YOU to register to Walk for Respect on Parade Day Saturday 11 October 2025.

A peaceful, non-confrontational, non-political walk to offer the wider community an insight into key signs of Domestic Violence & Coercive Control against Women • Men • Children! We are NOT a lobby group.

The people who come along are so varied. We have survivors of Domestic Violence who reconnect with others. It's very cathartic and comforting. People who are simply determined to help be a positive part of the solution to build Respectful Relationships. First responders such as Ambo's and Police who also sometimes need a hug to say thank you.

Then of course, there are wonderful local support groups / agencies / health services / businesses and more signing up to lead a Parade Group of their staff, their volunteers and supporters. You are welcome to choose one of these groups to walk with (see the Parade Groups section on this website).

When you register to walk, for free, if you whis, you can even nominate one these groups you would like to walk with ... or simply make your choice on the day when you arrive in Victoria Square from 9am.

We would love you to share the Parade with your family .. your friends .. your colleagues and beyond. Rotary and our Groups are hoping to have many thousands of people walk with us on Parade Day to fill King William Street and offer the TV Cameras an outstanding example of how our community SAYS NO to Domestic Violence and YES to Respectful Relationships. We have some very positive educational messages to spread.

Make sure your friends know our Walk for Respect lasts for only 1.2km from Victoria Square down to the Rotunda in Elder Park (next to the Festival Theatre). So it is an easy downhill walk - only about 30 minutes. Then we can all stick around (if you have time) for a coffee - chat - connect - listen to a couple of inspiring presentations.

Other Ways you can Help

Share our Poster

On this page, you'll find our Promo Poster in varying formats ... A4 and A3 size. We'd love it if you have an opportunity to Print it and put it up in places prominent near you. It might be your local Shopping Centre; School; your Workplace; Sporting Club; Library etc.

Plus, you could email it out to your contact list or put it up in your own Social Media feeds ... with our many Thanks!

Pledge a Donation

Thank you to the people who have already chosen during registration to add a voluntary donation! Rotary is a group of volunteers, who will use surplus funds to work with our registered Groups to see if we can help them deliver programs and/or services. That's what Rotary is about - supporting our Community. So again ... Thank You for your Donation.

This year, we're also asking walkers to bring along a CARE PACK household item to help our DV support organisations to rehome survivors fleeing to safety. < read more >

But please do note, registering to walk is FREE ... Donations are not required to register. Of most importance to us, is seeing you there on Parade Day.

Your Email Address ...

By registering, we're not adding you to a marketing list or selling your data to anyone. We will use your registration email address only to keep you informed of any changes or key parade updates as we get close to Saturday 11 October 2025. We'll also send out a reminder close to the Parade Day because we know how busy all our lives get. Thanks.
