OARS Community Transitions is a not-for-profit organisation supporting South Australians in contact with the criminal justice system and their families for over 135 years.

While Vision and Mission statements have changed slightly over the years, our core business has remained unchanged, with our purpose of enhancing community wellbeing by preventing and reducing harm and victimisation from criminal offending.

Through Don’t Become That Man we are actively contributing to the protection of women and children from control and violence by men:-

• By encouraging men to connect with treatment and support services to prevent escalation to violence and lethal violence
  
  
• Engaging with men by focusing on their behaviour and on the harm created by their violence and control.

The name (Don’t Become That Man) was created to encourage and facilitate early intervention and prevention programs for men who have concerns about their current behaviour and hoped that it encourages men to think about their controlling and/or violent behaviour and the consequences of this to get in contact with us and get assistance.

Within OARS Community Transitions more broadly, we provide a wide range of services inclusive of Reintegration, Rehabilitation and Specialised Services.
