In case of an Emergency - please call 000
The CFS is an all-hazards emergency services agency who responds to bushfires, building fires, road crash rescue, and other rescue responses.
Our work is embedded in the fabric of South Australian communities, and we collaborate closely with other emergency services as well as local government.
Our 13,000 strong volunteer force includes firefighters, operational support, and cadets. As CFS members, we are united by the commitment to protect and serve, and we recognise our role in supporting others in their time of need.
Domestic violence affects all areas of society, including emergency services. While SA Police is the lead agency in Domestic Family Violence (DFV) cases, CFS may be involved where these incidents intersect with fire or rescue responses.
Additionally, research shows that DFV can escalate after a disaster and we need to acknowledge that the victims may be amongst our own communities, or even our own members.
Together we can uphold the values of compassion, integrity, and safety – not just in the field, but within our communities and among ourselves.
Let us stand together against domestic violence.
